Written for fic_promptly.

Lucifer’s claws dug into his cheeks, right underneath his eyes.

He was stuck again.

He’d been sitting by the piano for hours, trying to work. He’d written a few smaller pieces of what was supposed to become a symphony over the last year, but now that he tried to put them together, he’d been at a standstill for months. Anything he did write felt off, wasn’t good enough.

His head dropped down against the keys, making him cringe at the terrible noise.

He’d created with such ease when he was younger, had been called a prodigy, had been praised far and wide for his ear for music, but now he was just severely burnt out. He hadn’t been able to finish anything in years, much less something that took as much work as an entire symphony.

He felt like a fraud.

“Fallin’ asleep at work, Lulu?”

Lucifer jumped, keys smashing loudly as his arms knocked against them and his back straightened. He turned, staring up at the intruder with wide eyes.

Angel snickered.

“You shouldn’t be calling me that.”

Angel slid onto the stool next to him, warm thigh pressed against his.

“Why not? It suits ya.”

He knew it did, he had friends who liked calling him that. That didn’t mean his students should be doing the same.

“It’s not appropriate.”

Angel grinned, turning where he sat, leaning forward until his hands were on either side of him. “And this?”

Lucifer’s cheeks flushed. Angel had been hitting on him for months now, even after he’d told him it wouldn’t get him preferential treatment. This was the most forward he’d been so far, however.

“Definitely inappropriate.”

Angel continued to lean forward, Lucifer leaning away until he fell to the side onto the long stool with a small ‘oof’, head hanging off the edge. As he turned, he found Angel hovering above him, dangerously close.

Oh.

His face felt like it was on fire as one of Angel’s lower hands traced a path up his shirt, playing with the unbuttoned top buttons of his shirt.

“Is this inappropriate too?”

This was a path he definitely shouldn’t go down.

He should push him off, he knew he should. He shouldn’t be letting Angel get away with such brazen advances. But his smile was bewitching.

“...Very.”

He felt the back of Angel’s claws run along his neck, up into his hair, burying deep in it. He pulled gently, exposing Lucifer’s neck, making him shiver as Angel leaned further down, lips brushing his pulse.

Oh, fuck.

“And this?”

Lucifer opened his mouth to speak, but all that came out was a gasp, a tiny moan as Angel pressed his lips to his skin.

He quickly pressed his hand to his mouth, wide eyes meeting Angel’s.

Angel laughed.

“Who’s bein’ inappropriate now, Lulu?”

“That’s- hnn!”

He pressed his hand harder against his mouth as Angel’s teeth dug into his skin. Oh, he’d be in so much trouble if they were caught.

Angel’s teeth dug in deeper, only letting go to suck on the exposed skin. He already knew it would bruise.

He felt Angel’s hand on his ass, squeezing. Angel pressed himself against him, unashamed. The attention to his neck made his head spin, Lucifer grabbing hold of one of the legs, feeling like he was going to fall off the stool at any second.

Then, as suddenly as he had started his advances, Angel pulled back, leaving Lucifer reeling as the attention disappeared.

He raised his head, staring at Angel with wide eyes.

Angel was already standing by the door, a smug smile on his face as he watched him. Lucifer sat up, pulling his collar closed to hide the blooming bruises.

Angel’s smile widened, fingers wrapping around the door handle.

“Good luck with your composin’, professor.”

And just like that, he was gone.

Lucifer stared at the empty space he had left behind, cheeks still hot, hair no doubt a mess.

He leaned forward, pulling his collar apart as he watched his reflection in the piano.

If anyone saw that, there would be no explaining it away as something else.

Buttoning his shirt as high as he was able, he glanced back toward the door.

He turned his attention back toward his piano, trying to pretend like nothing had ever happened. He wasn’t doing very well at it, though. Trying to focus on music he’d already started to hate when his neck was still aching was pretty much impossible.
