Written for fic_promptly for 'I don't know if that's supposed to be a talking point for the room, or if it's just hideous'. I am so fucking behind on fics again, aaah, I actually wrote this at the start of July. Anyway I wrote so many fics for challenge week last week, expect a lot of stuff once I get around to choosing titles for them (the hardest part imo).
If there was one thing Angel hadn’t expected while nearly tripping into Lucifer’s room after an evening of drinking and talking his way into his pants it was having to nearly choke on his surprise as the light was turned on.
He’d been ready for the piles of ducks. He’d heard Vaggi talk about the impossibly large amount of them he had all around the room.
What he hadn’t been expecting was the bed.
And being pretty far from sober, the effort it took him to not say anything about it immediately should earn him a medal. But he just… couldn’t stop staring at it.
Why the hell was the headboard in the shape of the face of a duck?
No, well, he kind of got the ‘why’ of it all. Lucifer had a very strange, very large attachment to the animal, to the point where it was threatening to take over his life. Probably would have, had he not come back into Charlie’s life when he did. The duck night light was kind of cute, as were the various duck clothes he’d seen him wear. But even the bed?
Was it cute in an ugly chihuahua kind of way or was it just plain ugly? And why did it feel like it was judging him? Its eyes weren’t even open.
Was it supposed to be a conversation-starter? Because he sure wanted to say a few things right about now, that he was struggling to keep down.
Lucifer didn’t seem to notice, leading Angel closer to the bed, pulling him down on top of him, bouncing them off the mattress.
He felt Lucifer’s hands run up his arms, up his neck, to his cheeks, pulling him down. His lips were soft as he kissed him, but it was hard to concentrate when whenever his eyelids fluttered, he caught sight of the headboard again.
Don’t laugh, don’t laugh, don’t laugh.
Lucifer let out a quiet moan as he squeezed his breast through his shirt, just as Angel accidentally glanced up.
The snort he let out was ungodly.
Lucifer’s eyes slipped open, blinking in confusion. “What’s so funny?”
Angel’s eyes darted up toward the headboard, then back to Lucifer.
“Your bed’s judgin’ me.”
“My bed’s- what?” Lucifer looked up, hair mussed against the mattress. “Oh.”
Angel watched Lucifer’s cheeks flush brighter than the booze and the kissing already had.
“I… can change it?”
“Nah, I’ll get used to it, just… not while I’m this hammered.”
He already knew he’d crack up any time he caught sight of it when he’d had this much to drink.
Eyes wandering, Angel caught sight of the stairs next to the bed. Leaning to the side, he peered up them.
“Hey sweetcheeks?”
“Mm?”
“Wanna fuck against the windows instead?”
He heard Lucifer hum as he considered it, eyes turning back toward him. A grin was growing on his face.
“I’d love to.”
Angel pulled Lucifer out of the bed with a laugh, lifting him off the ground and into his arms. As he climbed the steps, he felt Lucifer press his lips to his neck, teeth nipping at his skin, never fully biting.
He felt a pleasant shiver run down his spine
As he reached the top of the stairs, he pressed Lucifer up against the smooth glass. Lucifer looked up from his neck, tip of his tongue between his lips.
“You’re a tease, ya know that?”
“I wouldn’t want you to fall down the stairs.”
“How considerate.”
Angel’s fingers worked the buttons of Lucifer’s shirt open, watching Lucifer bite his lip in anticipation.
The look on his face made Angel forget all about the bed, at least for now.
That’d be something to think about later.
